    Daniel Harding conducts the Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala
Monday, January 10th at 7pm GMT, live from the Teatro alla Scala

Tonight at the Scala in Milan, Daniel Harding conducts Ulysses, the main work by Italian composer Luigi Dallapiccola, who wrote the score in 1968. The second half of the concert features a performance of Strauss' Alpensinfonie by the Filarmonica della Scala.

At the Hartt School of Music where he stays in residency Menuhin rehearses Beethoven with the university orchestra, and gives the musicians some tips and shares his knowledge, filmed by his trusted director Bruno Monsaingeon.
  Abbado conducts Tchaikovsky and Verdi

Principal conductor of the Berliner Philharmoniker during over 13 years, Claudio Abbado also initiated the Europakonzert, which celebrates every year since 1991 the orchestra's anniversary in a major European city. Here, he conducts Tchaikovsky's "Tempest", a symphonic poem inspired by Shakespeare's work, along with some of Verdi's sacred works.

Kurt Masur who was simultaneously and for almost ten years the music director of the Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, had to face social and cultural realities that sometimes differed greatly.
 
Pierre Boulez conducts Debussy and Stravinsky, at the beginning of the 1970s. These archive materials enlight the direct filiation between the composer of the Images, and Pierre Boulez, a major and symbolic artist of the second half of the 20th century.
 
Christoph von Dohnányi rehearses Haydn's Symphony No. 88 in G with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, on the occasion of one of his first concerts as principal conductor of this orchestra.
